Surviving Com 220

For this project I wrote a script answering questions about my opinions on Com 220. After the script was written I then recorded the answers and went to Premiere to upload them there of course once they were saved to my hard drive. I had to shorten and change the order of what I said in order to make it make sense. I found music and created a lower title. I added those into Premiere along with the title slide for the video and, adding b-rolls.

Audio Journey

My audio journey had some ups and downs. It started out bumpy because I was getting use to the new material as well as adjusting to online learning. It has been hard I am not going to lie but I have been putting forth the most effort. When getting use to using Premiere it was like a foreign language. Soon, I became familiar with the different screens and buttons. After I learned about those it was just a matter of using them and learning what they do. I overall, think I grasped the concept well. I picked up on how to adjust audio, levels, and even add photos to it. I can say I am a pro at picking where I want my audio to begin and end. I struggled most with the sound-waves just because we had to put together so many sounds and mix the audio. The easiest task/project for me would have to be the tell a story. While tedious it is similar to previous tasks making it almost muscle memory of what to do and which buttons do what and add what.

collage

I chose to make a pink collage because it is my one favorite color, as well as adding some fashion which is something that I love to follow. I even included Hailey Bieber because she is a fashion idol of mine and that look was iconic.

Digital Designs

Ruth Ansel

A very established graphic designer is Ruth Ansel.  Ansel made her debut as a designer in 1962 and became the youngest and first female to achieve, in order: co-art director of Harper’s Bazaar, director of the New York Times Magazine, Vogue, Vanity fair, and House & Garden.   Ansel has also received The Gold Medal for Design, Design Award for Continuing Excellence in Publication Design by the Society of Publication, and was an AIGA medalist. She pushed the boundaries of magazine design and created covers for almost 5 decades, that are era-defining Ruth Ansel and the magazines and newspapers she worked for appealed to me, because of the different elements of her pieces and strange props and surroundings. Working with photographers, illustrators, and, artist.  Ansel has worked with some very famous people such as Andy Warhol and Bruce Weber.  Another achievement of hers is she also designed Alice in wonderland the book and then adapted into a movie.  In the 90s she created her own design studios where she kept creating notable books.  I have actually admired pieces that belong to her, not knowing who created them or even wondering.  In my Mema’s, aka grandma, Florida house she has paintings of large versions of some of these works.

The Angels Art Bazaar cover of the women with the pink circle around her head had a lot of depth to its design. What the woman is doing can’t be identified and she has one grey eye with black and white surroundings and one blue eye.  The different elements attract the eye.
The Bazaar cover from April of 1969 is of a young woman with no smile who appears to be almost in a daze.  She has green eyeshadow on but yet Ansel decided to make the background around her blue. She even put a glow of blue circling her and almost looking like and astronaut helmet.
The Bazaar cover from January of 1963 is very defining of the era.  By looking at this cover, I know that this was printed in the 60s. The pops of red and blue in her shit and matching, scarf hair tie.  As well as, the matching colored lipstick, cigarette, and a heavy black eye line.
